What is the difference between Laser and Pulsed-Light treatments?
Pulsed-Light systems and lasers are very similar and remove hair in basically the same way. However, the Palomar Pulsed-Light System uses a new technology that removes hair many times faster than lasers. As a result, pulsed-light treatments can fit even the busiest person’s schedule.
What Body Areas Can I Get Treated?
Intense Pulsed-Light can treat any area, except around the eyes. The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face, neck, etc., can all be treated...Fast!
How many treatments will I need?
Most people will need an average of six treatments. Hair grows in stages. It is important that we treat the hair when it is in its growth stage. Therefore, we treat hair every six weeks. As you can see, your treatments will take several months. So start early.
What are the treatment sessions like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move a wand-like hand piece over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle “snapping sensation”. Once this is completed, we wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you're ready to go.
What should most people expect after treatment?
Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Our physician explain other, less likely side effects to you a few months after treatment.
